HOW TO: Get the Connection Assignment detail for a Resource in EDC
May 18, 2022 knowledge 000159106 no 0 0 0, article details, other details, system information, to be removed.
Matthew Bock asked a question.
We're a new EDC customer (10.5). While scanning our Redshift cluster the job is failing during the auto-connection assignment step. if we navigate to the LDMAdmin > Overview > Manage Connections, it simply says there's an error to contact our LDM Admin. We're trying to understand why this is failing, and how to resolve it, unfortunately reviewing the logs we're seeing:
2021-11-29 15:58:45,613 [GroupExecutor--1] INFO com.infa.products.ldm.ingestion.client.rest.LdmRestClient- Fetching connections from catalog
{"message":"1","stackTrace":"java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException:.....
java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Unexpected response status: 500
This is all on a fresh install of EDC so we're not entirely sure where to turn. We've opened a case with support but, would like to get some assistance from the community on places to look, items to try, etc...

Could you please confirm the resource type? Is it Informatica Platform?
There is a known limitation with auto connection assignment in EDC 10.5 which is being tracked through CR EIC-55039. The log snippet you shared partially matches with the issue being handled in EIC-55039.
Update the case with complete scanner log, and the screenshots of 'General' and 'Metadata Load settings' tab of the problematic resource to confirm you on the same.
As a workaround, you can disable auto-connection assignment, and do manual connection assignment for time being.

The resource is Redshift.
I did see this article: https://knowledge.informatica.com/s/article/5004w000028fLBkAAM?language=en_US&type=external which is the one you're referring to.
For my open case, I have included all of the above screen captures and logs. Pardon my lack of knowledge with EDC, I do not see any option for disabling auto-connection assignments, where can this be disabled.
You can uncheck the Auto connection assignement box on the resource level and rerun the resource again
This would remove the connections automatically assigned by the product.
But post the resource loads are complete. You would need to login into the LDM Admin --> Manage --> Connections and assign the connections as required and let the connections being created between the objects.
This is certainly an manual overhead until the issues pointed out by Venki are resolved.
